I note that you show yourself as translator on these. Were they not in English originally ?
Also, I don't know whether there is an official policy, but having the initials without space or stops does not look right to me. I don't think that matters for the index page, but I think it would matter for the final item. -- Beardo (talk) 16:47, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
- No - I 'decoded' them from the original illegible handwriting. Originals are in the British Library by the way - but library policy does not allow them to be published.
- Should I remove myself as translator ?
- As for initals without spaces - I assume you mean in the title. Unfortunately that is the title of the file on Wikimedia - so I would imagine that cannot be changed without major upheaval ???
- Or can the final item have a different name from the index ?

- I am sure that you should not be described as translator - that is for works originally in another language and creates other copyright issues.
- Yes, it is complicated to change the name of the index and its underlying pages. But the final work does not have to have the same name. In fact an administrator has deleted the page that you had created, so when you are ready, you can choose a different name. - Unfortunately the British Library website is down at the moment and has been for a while - and is not expected back soon. They got hacked, I believe.
- I suggest I just go for "Letters from Leonard A. Bethell to Frederick M. Bailey" to keep it moderately short. What do you think ?
