This routing would begin at the junction of present U. S. Route 75 and State Route 140 at Sloan, thence west to newly constructed Interstate Route 29, thence northerly over I-29 by-passing the towns of Salix and Sergeant Bluff to an intersection with present U. S. Route 75 at the south city limits of Sioux City.
TENNESSEE U. S. 129
Extension
This routing would begin in Knoxville at the end of present U. S. Route 129, thence northerly over U. S. Route 441 to Halls Crossroads, thence over State Route 33 to Tazewell, thence northeasterly over U. S. Route 25 E to the Kentucky-Virginia-Tennessee State line at Cumberland Gap.
REJECTED—An over concentration of U. S. Numbered routes now serve the area and the standards of the highway are not up to those required under the policies revised January 1, 1959.

This routing will be over a newly constructed controlled access highway designated as Interstate Route 65 between State Route 131 north of Jeffersonville and U. S. Route 50 east of Seymour, thence east on U. S. Route 50 to junction of present U. S. Route 31.

This routing would follow newly constructed Interstate Route 65 from a junction with present U. S. Route 52 northwest of Lebanon, thence southerly over I-65 to an intersection with present U. S. Route 52 at 56th Street in northwest Indianapolis.

This routing would begin at the interchange at Interstate Route 65 at the intersection with State Route 334, thence westerly over State Route 334 to present U. S. Route 52, thence southerly with present U. S. Route 52 to the interchange of 71st Street and I-65 northeast of Indianapolis.
