HASHIMOTO, Gaho (TOKYO), Artist; 6. Tokyo, 1835. Was Professor of Government Fine Art Institute, at Ueno from which, with president, Okakura and several other members of faculty, seceded in 1899 and set up Nippon Fine Art Institute at Yanaka; chiefly famous for landscapes, and one of most celebrated contemporary painters of Japanese style.
