BRIDGES, Robert, pseudonym Droch, American author and poet: b. Shippensburg, Pa., 13 July 1858. A graduate of Princeton, for some time he was connected with the New York Evening Post and became assistant editor of Scribner's Magazine in 1887. His sparkling reviews contributed to Life and signed “Droch” attracted wide attention. He is the author of ‘Overheard in Arcady’ (1894); ‘Suppressed Chapters and Other Bookishness’ (1895); ‘Bramble Brae,’ a volume of poems (1902); ‘The Roosevelt Book’ (1904).
