A maiden tall with winning ways,
Devoid of affectation;
A face such as the story says

Grows bright with animation;
Rich burnished tresses round it twine
A wealth of golden splendour;
'Neath their long silken lashes shine
Grey eyes, so clear and tender;
Ever may God defend her.
