Section 202(a)(18) of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 (15 U.S.C. 80b-2(a)(18)) is amended by inserting after "mineral rights," the following: "any put, call, straddle, option, or privilege on any security (incluc^g a certificate of deposit) or on any group or index of securities (including any interest therein or based on the value thereof), or any put, call, straddle, option, or privilege entered into on a national securities exchange relating to foreign currency,". SEC. 7. Section 16(14) of the Securities Investor Protection Act (15 U.S.C. 78111(14)) is amended— (1) by inserting after "Securities Act of 1933)," the following: "any put, call, straddle, option, or privilege on any security, or group or index of securities (including any interest therein or based on the value thereof), or any put, call, straddle, option, or privilege entered into on a national securities exchange relating to foreign currency,"; and (2) by striking out "The" in the last sentence and inserting in lieu thereof "Except as specifically provided above, the".
