time: Provided, That the choice of the site and the design of the statue shall be subject to the approval of the Commission of Fine Arts and the National Capital Planning Commission: Provided further, That the erection of the statue and proper landscape treatment of the site, including walks, shall be without expense to the United States of America, except for necessary maintenance after completion. That, notwithstand- Padre Island National Seaing any other provision of law, there are hereby authorized to be shore,'xexTs. appropriated such sums as may be necessary to satisfy the final judg- Appropriation ment of $6,810,880 (that is, $9,212,730 minus $2,402,350 deposited in court; all figures exchisive of amounts for tract No. 7) rendered against the United States in civil action numbered 65-0-54 in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, for the acquisition of land and interests in land for the Padre Island National Seashore. The sums herein authorized to be appropriated shall be sufficient to pay tho amount of said judgment, together with interest and costs as provided by law. Approved October 17, 1968.

The secoiid sentence of such section is amended by striking out "such bonds,"' and inserting in lieu thereof "such bonds and notes,". Approved October 17, 1968.
