For the purchase of school building and playground sites as follows: For the purchase of a site in the vicinity of Minnesota Avenue and Ely Place Southeast, for the construction of an elementary school; For the purchase of a site in the vicinity of Pennsylvania and Alabama Avenues Southeast, for the construction of an elementary school; In all, $65,000, to remain available until expended. HIGHWAY FUND, GASOLINE TAX AND MOTOR VEHICLE FEES Street improvements: For grading, paving, surfacing, and other- wise improving such unpaved or inadequately surfaced streets, ave- nues, and roads in newly developed areas as may be designated by the Commissioners of the District of Columbia and such curbing, gutters, and drainage facilities as may be necessary to insure reason- ably satisfactory conditions pending permanent and final improve- ment, including all necessary expenses incident thereto, fiscal year 1941, $250,000, to remain available until June 30, 1942, and to be paid wholly out of the special fund created by the Act entitled "An Act to provide for a tax on motor-vehicle fuels sold within the Dis- trict of Columbia, and for other purposes", approved April 23, 1924 (43 Stat. 106), and the Act entitled "An Act to provide additional revenue for the District of Columbia and for other purposes", approved August 17, 1937. WATER SERVICE Dalecarlia station, Washington Aqueduct: For effecting changes in the Dalecarlia changes. hydroelectric station to permit of its conversion, in cases of emer- gency, into a pumping station for lifting raw water from the Chesa- peake and Ohio Canal into the Dalecarlia Reservoir, and for all necessary expenses incident thereto, fiscal year 1941, $75,000, to continue available until June 30, 1942.
