buildings in Duchesne County, Utah . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not other- wise appropriated, the sum of $50,000 to be used by the Secretary of the Interior in making payments to the Duchesne County school district in accordance with the provisions of section 2 . SEc . 2 . The Duchesne County school district shall submit to the Secretary of the Interior for his approval (1) plans for extensions and improvements of existing public-school buildings within such coun ty, and for the construction o f such other s chool buildings as such district may consider necessary, and (2) estimates as to the cost of carry ing out such plans . The Secretary of the Interior is auth orized to appro ve such plans a nd cost estima tes in whole or in part, or to require modifications or revisions thereof . Upon approval by the Secretary of any such plans and cost estimates, and upon agreement by such school district that the public schools main- tained by it shall be open to Indian children who reside in such district, the Secretary shall pay to such district, but not in excess of the appropriation made in section 1, an amount equal to the approved cost estimate of carrying out such approved plan . Such amount shall be expended by such district for the purpose of carry- ing out such approved plan and for no other purpose . SEC. 3. No payments shall be made to the Duchesne County school district under the provisions of this Act, unless such district main- tains b ooks, records, acco unts, and mem oranda and p ermits the examination of and produces such books, records, accounts, and memoranda, in accordance with such reasonable regulations as the Secretary of the Interior may prescribe . [5 .2545 .] To provide funds for acquisition of the property of the Haskell Students [Public, No . 266 .] Activities Association on behalf of the Indian School known as "Haskell Institute", Lawrence, Kansas . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That there is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $30,500 to be expended under the direction of the Secretary of the Interior for the purpose of meeting indebtedness of the Haskell Students Activities Association, and acquiring title to the property of this association for use of the Government Indian school known as " Haskell Institute ", located at Lawrence, Kansas : Provided, That funds hereby authorized for this purpose may be used to pay off any outstanding mortgages, liens, judgments, or other valid indebted- ness against the above-mentioned association : And p rovi ded furt her, That upon payment of all outstanding obligations against the Haskell Stude nts Ac tiviti es Asso ciatio n, not to ex ceed in all $ 30,500 , the title to all property belonging to the said association shall be transferred to the United States, and upon such transfer such property shall become a part of the Government Indian School known as " Haskell Institute ", Lawrence, Kansas .
