Probation system : For personal services, $11,480 ; contingent ex- penses, $350 ; in all, $11,830 . Courthouse, care, etc' Courthouse : For personal services for care and protection of the courthouse, under the direction of the United States marshal of the District of Columbia, $35,290, to be expended under the direction of the Attorney General . Repairs, etc . For repairs and improvements to the courthouse, including repair and maintenance of the mechanical equipment, and for labor and mate rial and every item incident t hereto, $23,00 0, to be expend ed under the direction of the Architect of the Capitol . Court of Appeals . salaries . Proviso . Sale of reports . Care, etc ., of build- ing . Proviso . Cu stodian . Incidental expenses. Building repairs, etc . Miscellaneous. Support of convicts. Lunacy writs . Expe nses of ex e- cution, etc . Miscellaneous court expenses . COURT OF APP EA LS Salaries : For the chief justice and four associate justices, five law clerks at $2,50 0 each, and all other officers and employees of the court ; reporting service ; and not to exceed $520 for necessary expenditures in the conduct of the clerk's office ; in all $111,800 : Provided, That the reports of the court shall not be sold for a price exceeding that approved by the court and for not more than $6 .50 per volume . Building : For personal services for care and protection of the United States Court of Appeals Building, including one mechani- cian, under the direction of t he Architect of the Capitol, $8,340 : Provided, That the clerk of the court of appeals shall be the custo- dian of said bu ilding, under t he direction an d supervision of the justices of said court . For mops, brooms, buckets, disinfectants, removal of refuse, elec- trica l supp lies, b ooks, and al l othe r neces sary a nd inc identa l expe nses not otherwise provided for, $660 . For repairs and improvements to the United States Court of Appeals Building, including repair and maintenance of the me- chanical equipment, and for labor and material and every item inci- dent thereto, $5,000, to be expended under the direction of the Architect of the Capitol . MISC ELLANEO US Support of convicts : For support, maintenance, and transporta- tion of convicts transferred from District of Columbia ; expenses, of shipping remains of deceased convicts to their homes in the United States, and expenses of interment of unclaimed remains of deceased convicts ; expenses incurred in identifying and pursuing escaped convicts and rewards for their recapture ; and discharge gratuities provided by law ; to be expended under the direction of the Attorney General, $60,000 . Writs of lunacy : For expenses attending the execution of writs de lunatico inquirendo and commitments th ereunder in all cases of indigent insane persons committed or sought to be committed to Saint Elizabeths Hospital by order of the executive authority of the District of Columbia under the provisions of existing law, and expenses of commitments to the District Training School, $1,000 . Miscellaneous court expenses : For such miscellaneous expenses as may be authorized by the Attorney General for the Supreme Court of t he Dis trict of Col umbia a nd its offic ers, i ncludi ng the furnis hing and coll ecting of evide nce where the United States i s or may be a pa rty in intere st, an d incl uding such e xpenses other than for pe rsonal services as may be authorized by the Attorney General for the United States Court of Appeals, District of Columbia ., $25,000.
