HaitiaDlzatlon of the Th d·dI.t Garde and withdrawal e un erslgne p empo en- ofmUitaryforoes. tiaries, duly authorized by their Vol. 39, p. 1658. respective governments, have agreed upon the following Accord: ARTICLE I The American officers now serv- ing with the Garde d'Haiti will be replaced in such a manner that by October 1, 1934, the Garde shall be completely commanded by Haitian officers. ARTICLE II On October I, 1934, the Garde, under complete command of Hai- tian officers, will be turned over to a Colonel in active service whom the President of the Republic shall designate as Com- mandant. ARTICLE III The promotions to be effected until the complete Haitianization of the Garde will be made after examinations held in the presence of the representative of the Gov- ernment of Haiti in conformity with Article X of the Treaty of September 16, 1915. ARTICLE III Les promotions a faire pendant Ie cours de l'haitianisation de Ia. Garde seront faites apres exarnens passes en pr~sence d'un represen- tant du Gouvernement haitien en conformite de l'article X du Traite du 16 septembre 1915.
