An Act making Appropriations to defuy the Deficiencies in the Appro- Feb. 15, 1860. priations _/or the Service o/` the Past-Office Department for the fiscal Kaur ending the """""""""" 30th of June, 1859, and in Part for the Support of the Post·O_#ice Department for the fiscal Year ending the 30th June, 1860. Be it enacted bg the Senate and fbuso of R@resentatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the sum of four million Dciicipncy ap- ' two hundred and ninety-six thousand and nine dollars and twenty-six cents is hereby appropriated out of any money in the treasury not partment for otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of supplying the deficiency in Year ¤¤<U¤SJ¤¤¤ the revenues and defraying the expenses of the Post-Oihce Department 30'1859‘ for the year ending the thirtieth of June, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine. Sec. 2. And he it further enacted, That towards the support of the f A1QPF<>t3’i¤f¤¤¤¤ Post-Otiice Department, for the fiscal year ending the thirtieth of June, §;p,,°,Q°;;cS°}’0,. eighteen hundred and sixty, the sum of four millions of dollars, payable year endiugJuue ‘ out of any money in the treasury arising from the revenues of the Post- 30s 186°· Office Department, is hereby appropriated, and the thrther sum of two millions four hundred thousand dollars is hereby appropriated, payable out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, said sums to be expended in conformity with the provisions of the act of the seeond day of July, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-six, in the F<>FS*g¤W>b¤ payment exclusively of compensation to postmasters and clerks in their °xp°” ° ' ciiices, mail depredations and special agents, and for the transportation ,836,ch_270_ of the mails, for wrapping paper, mail bags, blanks and paper for the Vol. v. p. 80. same, mail locks, keys, and stamps, postage stamps and stamped envelopes.
