Thy foes in might and wealth as now below
Thou dwellest ruled by those thou can'st not love!
For I have seen thee on thy sad path go—
No pleasant pathway that—but gaining still
The meed of praise for all the holiest laws,
Which highest place in heavenly order fill,
By this thy reverence winning God's applause.
