I think he would have said, “No, no; the world does not move so quickly as that!” But it does move; it has moved; and I am optimist enough to hope that the present outburst of colossal unreason, alleged to be under the patronage of God, may in the end promote the cause of reason, or at any rate may not involve any intellectual setback. With that hope in view, let us not cease to fight the good fight of spiritual illumination.
