The Courtship of Ferb

Conor lay one night in Eman,
Heavy sleep had wrapped his frame,
Something rose to view, a woman
Towards his couch of slumber came.

Red her robe, with gold embroidered,
Far from mean her garments were,
And a golden crown was shining
On her silken, braided hair.

Thus the noble dame addressed him,
"Conor! good's the sign I bring!
Honour and good luck in all things
Wait for thee, illustrious king."

"Tell me what the future brings me," 5
Thus spoke Nessa's royal son,
"Glorious lady, tell the moment
When the strife shall be begun."

"Seven years hence thy forces gather,
Wives and boys the ranks fill full;
Then shall glory slay them, fighting
For the Dun—for Cualgne's Bull."
