The Courtship of Ferb

Ferb.

Champion Fiannamail, arouse you,
Grief, as yet unknown, to face;
Grieved I hear your word; and answer—
You have found his resting-place.

Fian.

Fairest Ferb, my wrath is rising,
Tell me all the tidings sore
If you know—the son of Alill—
Tell me—where is Mani More?

Ferb.

Ah, ochone! the bitter sorrow!
Was not all my meaning plain?
Mani's dead; and in the battle
All his chivalry were slain.

Fian.

Who has caused the cruel conflict?
Whose the arms that shone in strife?
Who has slain the royal Mani?
Have his foes been left in life?
