vary depending on whether the primary goal was to present the transmitted or the original phonetic form of the text. Providing accent marks seemed unnecessary for the purpose of the investigations presented here, with a few exceptions. However, the author considered it useful to mark the caesura of the Trishtubh and Jagati lines.

The critically edited text of the Rigveda itself, accompanied by the apparatus of materials contained in the other Samhitas, Brahmanas, and Sutras, will follow in the current volume as soon as the nature of such an extensive and challenging task allows.
