hymn.

Ah, no! within those dark-blue eyes,
Those graceful words, that winning smile,
A deeply sweet enchantment lies,
Beyond the spell from Erin's isle!

Thou dost not need the charmèd flower,
Thou dost not need the fairy's art;
In feeling dwells thy magic power,
The leaf of love is in thy heart!

HYMN.
Approach not the altar
With gloom in thy soul;
Nor let thy feet falter
From terror's control!

God loves not the sadness
Of fear and mistrust:
Oh serve Him with gladness—
The Gentle, the Just!
