Discusses the available supply of various large cities, and concludes that they should adopt methods to prevent waste and to provide a second set of pipes for water not used for drinking, citing in sup- port the practice of the Romans.

to streets and alleys. Revised Statutes of the State.

These will give the general provisions of the state as to nuisances, etc.

A first-class discussion. Maintains that careless individuals are

largely responsible for the filthy conditions of the street; gives

methods now employed and points out improvements.
