Book I.

Affections but alwayes fled before them. But thou Young Man, if thou wilt hearken unto me, shalt stand, and fortifie thy self against this Enemie of Grief. For above all things it is constancy you stand in need off: and there are some who have commenced Conquerours by fighting, but not a single Person by flying.
