Incomplete map

[edit]

This work features a fold-out map. When unfolded it should present a map from Thrace to Armenia (26° to 46° E longitude). The folds divide the map at about the 32° and 38° lines of longitude. Of the seven or eight versions (including different editions) of this book on IA, some have a scan of the first 'page' (26-32°), some have a scan of the third page (40 to 46°) and some don't have it at all. None of them has the middle 'page' and none has an image of the map folded out.

A low resolution scan of the map has been located and uploaded to Commons. It was sourced from a Google Books scan of the Blackwood's 1877 reprint of Grant's book (which originally appeared in 1871). Chrisguise (talk) 09:23, 8 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
