Formatting

Within the first two books there were four different ways of formatting the line numbers, which meant that the work was not transcluding properly. There were also variations in the general formatting of the individual pages. It has been standardised to {{ppoem}} formatting, so there is no need to use text block templates, or the {{sidenotes}} template.

{{ppoem}} produces text centred on the page, which in this case is not inconsistent with the page layout that effectively has a left column for the line numbering.

Although line numbers alternate between LHS and RHS, transclusion does not standardise them to one side, so {{pline|xxx|r}} has been applied throughout.

The occasional line has a left indent, which is 1em wide, not 2. Chrisguise (talk) 08:02, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

Long 's'

I personally loathe the reproduction of the long 's'. It makes reading the text harder, makes it take longer to do the transcription and makes proofreading more difficult. Removing it, which takes a matter of moments per page, seems to upset people, so since there are already 100+ pages already done like this I have left it - but I won't be doing more transcription. @Chrisguise: As best I can tell this text has been sitting mostly untouched for a decade (I could be wrong). If you want to pick it up and finish it there should be no problem with you standardising on your preference of reproducing / not reproducing the long s (existing instances of {{long s}}) can be bot-substed). Is there any recent activity I'm missing, or anyone actually objecting to changing it for this text? Xover (talk) 13:26, 10 July 2022 (UTC)
