Use NZETC text rather than OCRing

@Marshelec @ShakespeareFan00 @Jen8000 For the Life of Seddon, the text has been OCRd and proofed already by the NZETC project: https://nzetc.victoria.ac.nz/tm/scholarly/tei-DruSedd.html

To date, I've only found a few minor errors - and I've found it much quicker to copy and paste than OCR when proofing.

Things to note (so far):

  • Need to check for curly apostrophes and quotes - some pages are correct, others have straight ones.
  • Need to check for italics and other formatting.

That sounds good to me, David. As long as people double check the minor typographic issues, and format headings, page numbers, and so forth the Wikisource way, we should be able to save some time. Page 68 Missing

The text jumps from pages 67 to page 69 - I appear to have missed this page when scanning. Will scan and get it to Mike ASAP. - KAynsley

OK, sorted. It's a pain to upload a replacement PDF, as there's a maximum file size of 100 MB, but I compressed it a bit more. I've manually fixed the page numbering. but all the completed page text past p70 will need to be cut-and-pasted to the following page. I went through the PDF version in commons and the only other issue I've noticed is for page 138 (index pages 158 and 159) - this is included in the PDF twice. David Nind (talk) 21:33, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I noted that too; have deleted the extra page 138, have uploaded the (hopefully final version!) to Commons. I can't figure out why the scanned pages aren't updating. When go to page 87, the scanned page is missing so p88 shows, but when I click Image p87 displays correctly. Some sort of caching problem? OK, to update any pages that aren't showing correctly do a hard refresh in your browser (Ctrl-Shift-R in Firefox as opposed to Ctrl-R), which will download a fresh copy of the page. —Giantflightlessbirds (talk) 04:50, 21 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
I have tried this, but the page images don't seem to update. I started marking the ones so far when proofing/validating as problematic - but there are so many of them now I'm not sure what to do. However, sometimes when I edit the page it fixes itself up and other times it doesn't! David Nind (talk) 19:48, 18 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
