Changes

The sea is the same, yet not the same,
The sky is the same, yet not the sky
That was over our heads when we hitherward came
Just a year ago, my Love and I.

For then, my Love, you loved me true,
Blue was the sea and blue the sky,
Beautiful both in their azure hue,
But colours will fade and love will die.

Cold and grey are the sea and sky,
Waves are swelling against the shore,
Bearing you far from me; and I
List to their crooning of 'nevermore.'
