Dattatreya
(c. 4th century BCE – c. 3rd century BCE)

Hindu legendary sage of the Vedic era, son of Sage Atri (one of the seven primordial sages of Hinduism), considered an incarnation of all three of the Hindu Trinity and still worshipped as such. Originally human in the pre-Common Era Jabala Darsana Upanishad, he was later deified in the Dattatreya Upanishad, composed in the medieval India, which is the main text of Dattatreya Sampradaya, the Hindu sect dedicated to him.
