Tarleton, (Sir) Banastre (Bart.), s. John, of Liverpool, Lancashire, arm. University Coll., matric. 3 Nov., 1771, aged 17; created a baronet 6 Nov., 1818, G.C.B. 20 May, 1820, M.P. Liverpool 1790-1806, 1807-12, general in the army 1812, colonel 21st dragoons 1802, and 8th light dragoons 1818, governor of Berwick and Holy Island 1808, served in North America 1777-81, died 23 Jan., 1833.
