Morgan, (Sir) Charles (Bart.), 1s. King Gould, of St. Margaret's, Westminster, arm. Christ Church, matric. 1 June, 1743, aged 17; B.A. 1747, M.A. 1750, created D.C.L. 8 July, 1773 (then) judge-advocate general 1771-1806, bar.-at-law, Middle Temple, 1750, chancellor of Salisbury 1772, M.P. Brecon, 1778-87, co. Brecon 1787-1808, knighted 5 May, 1779, created a baronet 15 Nov., 1792, and the next day assumed by royal licence the surname of Morgan in lieu of Gould, P.C. 1802, died 6 Dec., 1806, grandfather of Lord Tredegar.
