Denison, Edward, s. John Denison (formerly Wilkinson), of Marylebone, London, arm. Oriel Coll., matric. 23 June, 1818, aged 17, B.A. 1822; fellow Merton Coll. 1826-37, M.A. 1826, dean 1827, bursar 1833, D.D. by diploma 5 April, 1837, entered the Inner Temple 1822 (brother of Viscount Ossington, sometime speaker of the House of Commons), vicar of St. Peter's-in-the-East, Oxford, 1826-37, bishop of Salisbury 1837, until his death 6 March, 1854.
